Meet Stacy Cummings
Biography
Stacy Cummings was a partner and Vice President/CFO of Priority Auto Group which he helped found in 1998. While starting with two automobile dealerships in Chesapeake Virginia, Priority consists of nineteen dealerships located throughout Virginia and was one of the thirty largest privately owned automobile dealership groups in the country with over 2,300 employees before being sold to Lithia, the largest publicly traded automobile company in the world.
Before getting into the automobile business, Stacy served as a Military Policeman in the United States Army. He Used the G.I. bill to complete his degree at the University of Maryland.
Stacy Cummings is a Certified Public Accountant and worked for the International Accounting firm Price/Waterhouse for a number of years after college.
Several years ago, Stacy took a year-long sabbatical from the automotive industry to teach high school math in Montgomery County Maryland. While enjoying the experience, he was more than happy to get back to the business world.
Stacy Cummings received his BS degree from the University of Maryland and is a retired member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has completed all of the required course work for a Master’s degree in teaching from American University.
Civic Involvement
Stacy Cummings is an active member of several local boards including the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation, Towne Bank and Virginia Beach Events Unlimited.
He is a Past President and Chairman of the Hampton Roads Automobile Association and spent many years on the board of the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center. As President and a director of the Priority Automotive Charities, Mr. Cummings has helped raise over $5,000,000 to help support children’s charities in Hampton Roads.
Stacy Cummings also had the honor of serving as the 44th King Neptune of the annual Virginia Beach Neptune Festival.
A resident of Virginia Beach, Mr. Cummings and his wife Aimée have twin boys Nicholas and Calvin who recently graduated from UVA and MIT respectively. Mr. Cummings also has three grown children Wesley, Jessica and Ryan and five grandchildren.
